Cycling tour around the mill

"Rondje van de Molen" (Windmill Tour) is a project that offers four thematic cycling routes through the Northern Veluwe region. The routes introduce cyclists to historic windmills, regional products, and sustainable energy sources. The goal is to give visitors an interactive experience of how traditional techniques and local food production contribute to the current energy transition and a sustainable future.

During this cycling tour, you'll cycle past the most beautiful windmills and regional products. The bread route takes you past current and former windmills, fields, local bakeries, estates, photogenic spots, windmills, and the Dutch Bakery Museum in Hattem.

Your local guide is miller Wim Timmerman of the De Hoop windmill in Oldebroek. He knows the most beautiful spots in the area. During this cycling tour, you'll visit 19 locations, the total distance being 56 kilometers, and you should allow about 360 minutes for it. In Elburg, you'll cycle past the City Beer Brewery, an eel smokehouse, and Schuld Bakery, among other places.

A fold-out route map shows the routes and a QR code that links to the app. Points along the route are marked with stories and background information about their locations. This information is provided through audio clips, augmented reality, short videos, photos, illustrations, and quizzes. References are also provided to additional information, such as websites and historical backgrounds.

"Rondje van de Molen" combines recreation, education, and experience, offering a unique way to explore the Northern Veluwe.
