Arrival of Saint Nicholas

On Saturday, November 18, 2023, Saint Nicolas will be welcomed in the medieval fortress city of Elburg. The program starts at 2:00 PM while waiting for the steamer with Saint Nicolas on board.
Around 2.30 p.m. the steamboat, with more than 200 Pieten on board, docks in the harbor of beautiful Elburg. Before that happens, the children will experience an exuberant Saint Nicholas party on the Havenkade led by the Kidz DJ.
Saint Nicholas then takes a tour through the medieval streets of Elburg Vesting. This parade also includes a Pieten band, the city chapel 'Concordia' and the 'Hellebaardiers'' of yesteryear.
Abseiling pieten descend from the nostalgic Vischpoort. There is a stage on the Vischmarkt where Saint Nicholas and the public are treated to performances and other entertainment.
