More information

A beautiful wooded estate on the transition between the high land of the Veluwe and the low fertile lands along the Drontermeer. The house is privately owned, but the estate is a beautiful cycling and walking area. There is a 4-kilometer walking route through the area past elements of the symmetrically designed 18th-century garden. The directions can be downloaded.

As early as the 13th century, a castle named Wijnbergen was situated on this site. In 1728, Anthony Zwier van Haersolte had the current Zwaluwenburg house built. It is one of the most intact and beautiful 18th-century country houses in Gelderland. The interior includes Louis XV style wall plastering.

On the estate are eight characteristic farms in traditional Gelderland architectural style. Together with the house, the farms and the surrounding landscape, the estate forms a perfect unit.
